Hi,

I'm importing some different OBJ files and all looks black. I was checking and the files look correct, vertex, faces, normals, etc...

I tried some files from this web: http://people.sc.fsu.edu/~jburkardt/data/obj/obj.html and my own files.

Do you know what can be the problem?

Thanks,

Rafa

Hello man,

Probably is your texture is not in the project or your mesh is too far from the main light (by default NinevehGL has a default light near the origin).

Turn off the lights to investigate:

nglGlobalLightEffects(NGLLightEffectsOFF);
nglGlobalFlush();

You can also check out the material:

NSLog(@"%@",mesh.material);

Them you will know if the texture is in there. Make sure the texture used by the mesh is in the Xcode project.

Cheers,

BTW, always check the log the output panel. NinevehGL will show a warning if it find a problem with a texture.

HI.

I tried all the recommendations, however I cant to put texture on my mesh, I tried with shader and material, and the nslog tell me null, but if I use a mesh generated programmatically goes well, could you help me please??

The original mesh comes from SolidWorks in wrl, then with mesh lab I converted to obj or dae.

Only by those things we can't say anything.
All the features works on the sample projects and lessons, so take a look there and compare with yours.

Besides, you can also send us the project for investigation and we'll provide you the answer.

Thans!

I solve the problem:

When I used meshlab, I obtain only the mesh file, with errors... so I used blender, when we export, it generate mtl and obj files, and all its fine

Last question: when the model rotates, there are some parts that turns transparent, could you give me a recommendation?

Thanks!!

Have you RGBA enabled? Or the Fog effect enabled?

By default NinevehGL has a main light, if you turn your mesh you'll see the effects of this main light on it, is this that your are seeing?

You can turn off the main light at any time, by using the global API.

NinevehGL is a 3D engine built right on top of OpenGL ES and it uses all the programmable pipeline power, making it easy for you to create great application with shaders.
