Importing Models With Animation

Hi, I'm trying to make an Augmented Reality application, I was searching for a 3D engine that would support 3D models with animation and I thought that I have to give NinevehGL a try. Unfortunately there is no information about importing animated models on this site or in the documentation, so I managed to try to load one. Although it was easy to understand the basics of the framework, loading an animated model did not work.

I used Blender for modeling and exported a DAE file. NinevehGL loaded and displayed it without problems, but there was just the first frame of the entire animation. One more thing - all faces have to be triangulated before export - otherwise blank/transparent triangles will appear.

So here are some questions regarding this:

- As I am new to iOS programming, maybe I did not mention some classes and methods in the documentation or in the header files that can handle models with animations. If so - maybe someone could explain me this a bit. Using Tween functions of this framework will not work for me this time.

- If NinevehGL does not support models with animations currently - will this kind of support added later?

Hello dude,

Yes, unfortunately NinevehGL doesn't support COLLADA animations right now. But this is a future feature, it will come with other kind of animations, like bones and kinematics. You can follow our roadmap here:

About the triangles: NinevehGL supports any kind of polygons, if they appears different it's probably something related to the material or texture. You can contact us using the contact area and we can provide more specific help to understand if there is a problem with the exported file or its texture.

NinevehGL is a 3D engine built right on top of OpenGL ES and it uses all the programmable pipeline power, making it easy for you to create great application with shaders.
